Photoshop makes me want to cry

im so confused and frustrated and unhappy
so i was working on reis request and everything was going fine
untill now
i open the file and i cant pick up any colors with the eyedropper tool
and whenever i try to color with what is preset it comes out browinsh even though its set to shades of gray
its gving me a stomachache :(
